Cobone.com, a daily deal site in the Middle East has announced its launch in Cairo, Egypt. The site offers discounts of 50 to 90 percent on goods and services including dining, health and beauty, hotels and more.
Cobone.com is based on the traditional group buying model, offering a deal for a short period of time and they display the countdown clock as a form of enticement to buy the deal before it’s gone. Users can pay for their vouchers or “cabones” by credit card, CashU, PayPal, One Card, or cash on delivery.
“We’re delighted to be launching Cobone in Cairo. We expect to mirror the regional successes of site in Egypt, and provide a new, fun, online shopping experience, saving our users millions of pounds in the process every year” said Paul Kenny, CEO of Cobone.com. “Cobone also offers retailers the unprecedented opportunity to market their brands on the web to one of the biggest online audiences in the Middle East without the need for hefty advertising budgets” he added.
Cobone .com also encourages social networking to help promote the deals. If a user convinces a friend or family member to buy the deal they get credit that can be applied toward their next purchase.
