Groupon Adds Deals Specific Groupon Channels

roupon is obviously aware that its users can often become overwhelmed by the sheer volume of deals it offers on a daily basis because now our favorite coupon king is organizing deals into manageable categories called Groupon Channels.
Groupon Channels launched this week in Chicago and will be appearing in other major cities very soon. The first channel to launch is the Home and Garden category with deals on piano tuning, dog walking, interior design consulting, wall art and room painting.
According to Crain’s Chicago Business:
A Groupon spokeswoman says. “It’s a targeted vertical that allows us to feature more of the quality local and online merchants waiting in our pipeline. We created the channel partially in response to customer demand for more evergreen deals and items appropriate for gifts.”
It’s always been a common complaint that daily deals need to more relevant. Now with daily deal sites focusing on hyper-local deals, Groupon users can also get hyper-relevant deals by signing up to receive alerts for specific channels of interest. It’s a nice move by Groupon to make life a little more convenient for all those deal seeking fans out there.
