Price Adjustment App for Savvy Consumers Launched
Most consumers now know that almost any product will eventually be available at a lower price if they are willing to wait and search diligently. Moreover, many retailers refund the difference if they reduce prices within a stated period. However, today’s busy consumer does not have the time to constantly monitor the deals, discounts, and sales of items already purchased or on a wish list.
Pricetector that aims to bridge the gap between retailers and consumers with its loyalty platform has recently launched Savvy, an app that tracks prices of specified items. The app, which can be downloaded to an iPhone or Android device, will let consumers take a photo of the receipt and be alerted if the retailer reduces prices within the refund period.
The Savvy app will also let users scan the barcode of a desired item and enter the price at which the user will be willing to purchase it. Savvy will then alert the user when the item becomes available at the desired price point.
This app will save consumers a lot of money without them having to monitor prices every day. In 2010, consumers failed to claim over $20 billion worth of price adjustment refunds. By using Savvy, this kind of loss can be avoided easily.
Savvy has tied up with over 40 well-known retailers such as BestBuy, J. Crew, Pottery Barn, Toys R US, and Coach. It is in ongoing discussions with other retailers to include them in its list.
