Peeking into the Mostly Likely Future for Facebook

facebook futureIf you recall, some web and online media analysts had repeatedly opined that Google might make its searches paid, at least across businesses whose daily functioning depended upon Googling. Now, similar opinions are surfacing about Facebook, albeit in the form of a premium service that could be unleashed once Facebook’s highly-anticipated public offering comes through. Once, Facebook’s coffers are flooded with its public listing revenue, the social media giant could try a premium paid service.

What could Facebook Premium be like?

The premium face of Facebook would be optional of course. However, it would offer so many features that most people might find it irresistible. Further, the subscription fee could be nominal to engage greater volumes initially.  The application niche of Facebook could witness a lot more within-app form of advertising, including those that entice Facebook users to purchase discounted deals.

Facebook’s Anticipated Future

These opinions might be a bit speculative but it should be understood that after a public listing, the manner in which Facebook will progress will be affected by its shareholders and influential investors.

What changes Facebook might witness soon?

Obviously, advertising is expected to be sustained since Facebook ads are a constant source of revenue. However, Facebook ads might become more content specific, something akin to Google ads that are often accused of being too invasive. Facebook advertising pattern might become more aggressive. We might witness the onset of brazen marketing campaigns as investors seek to earn more from Facebook. Mobile Facebook applications, including those found on smartphones and iPads, could do with a greater degree of refinement.

The biggest challenge for Facebook’s aggressive growth is the kind of volumes that the recently-launched Google+ with similar services is engaging. Many experts feel that Google+ might soon be boasting of user numbers very close to Facebook. However, Facebook has the undeniable advantage of being the social media pioneer and has a larger user-base to tap into currently.
