Just in Time for the Holidays – JetBlue Getaways was the First Vacation Program to Partner with Google Offers
If you have a want or a need to get away for a few days or longer, stay tuned to the daily dealers in your area. Case in point, for only $30, customers received $300 towards any JetBlue Getaways vacation package of three nights or more for travel through Dec. 15, if booked by Dec. 11, 2011.
Does that sound like a great deal? You bet it is. As we head into the holiday season this may be just the tip of the iceberg. JetBlue Getaways, the airline’s vacation program, was proud to be the first to partner with Google Offers to provide vacation package deals to their customers. For only $30, customers received a $300 discount towards any vacation package of three or more nights for a minimum of two people if booked by Dec. 11, 2011 for travel through Dec. 15, 2011. Google Offers subscribers in Austin, Boston, New York and Washington D.C. received the offer directly but the deal could have been purchased by anyone at www.google.com/offers on October 20th.
Grant McCarthy (Director of JetBlue Getaways) was thrilled with the partnership. “It’s Getaways for all, at an unbelievable discount! Our customers are looking for value when they come to book and we strive to deliver. Our product comes complete with air, hotel, the Getaways Best Price Guarantee, offering the lowest available price on vacation packages, and a 24-hour support desk dedicated to Getaways customers before, during and after their trip. It’s a steal!“
How well did the offer do? In the four main cities that were beta tested, the most recent data is posted below:
- Austin – 100 deals
- Boston – 900 deals
- New York – 900 deals
- Washington D.C. – 900 deals
Deals like these fly off the virtual shelf fast. Even with the days surrounding Thanksgiving being blacked out, the numbers once again prove that the power of the daily deal continues to roll on.
The Google side of the equation had this to say:
“We created Google Offers to provide people with great deals that help them to discover new experiences and places to eat, shop and play,” said Eric Rosenblum, Director of Product Management, Google Offers. “By partnering with JetBlue Getaways to run today’s (10/20) Google Offer, travelers in Austin, Boston, New York and Washington D.C. get front row access to getaways for less and the opportunity to experience a new place for the first time or perhaps return to a favorite spot.“
You may recall in an earlier article that I listed several of the top daily dealing sites. In that article I mentioned that TravelZoo was currently in 3rd place. Well, that knock they may be hearing on the door might be Google Offers. Stay tuned with us at Daily Deal Media as the battle for 3rd place continues to heat up.
