Meet and greet two Yankee Legends
Major League Baseball is just getting underway and LivingSocial may have hit a homerun by adding two current New York Yankee greats, Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera. That’s right Yankee fans those that are interested and on the LivingSocial email list may want to check those emails. If you have ever wanted to shoot the breeze with Derek Jeter or Mariano Rivera, then this LivingSocial offer may be for you. The number two daily dealer has done it again with another first. The company is promoting 30-minute meet-and-greets with the Yankee legends for $2,500 (Derek Jeter) and $2,000 (Mariano Rivera).
Maire Griffin, spokesperson for LivingSocial commented to ClickZ “Just like small businesses are using [LivingSocial] to help with marketing, sports franchises are also using [LivingSocial] to help their marketing efforts.” It’s not as though Derek or Mariano need marketing but it sure is cool for the fans. Anyone that plays or has played ball can easily appreciate the accomplishments of these two. Certainly this is no better way from true professionals than to be able to pick their brains.
Game tickets – signed 8 x 10 photos
There are twenty available vouchers for Mariano; sorry fans, only ten available for Derek. The offer also comes with a 100-level seat game ticket. The email from SocialLiving should have hit those New York City subscribers accounts at 2 p.m. ET. There are also other offers on the table that include signed 8X10 photos from the two ballplayers. Derek’s at $290 is a tad pricier than Mariano’s ($265), then again, clutch hitters with awesome numbers typically command more than pitchers, even those with incredible closing ratios. The offers are already available on the LivingSocial site.
It’s interesting to note that there are no charities tied in to these campaigns. As of now, it is unsure what Steiner Sports, marketing client for the Yankees is trying to accomplish. It certainly opens up the door for other atheletes and celebrities to jump on board the daily dealing greet and meet voucher program. Let’s just hope that all the fans that fork out the green aren’t left warming the bench.
