Groupon has announced the appointment of Mike DeLuca as VP of Sales for Breadcrumb. The daily dealing giant acquired Breadcrumb, an iPad point-of-sale solution for food and beverage businesses this past May for what was rumored to be between $10 and $15 million.
If the name Mike DeLuca sounds familiar, that’s because he also holds the role of VP of Sales and Operations for Savored, a restaurant reservations and discount provider that Groupon scooped up a few months ago for an undisclosed amount.
Deluca, a former AOL sales exec was initially hired by Savored as chief revenue officer earlier this year. Along with his new position, DeLuca will remain in his current role as VP of Sales and Operations for Savored and will continue to report to Rob Kilgarriff, VP and GM of North American Sales and Account Management, Groupon.
“Mike is a seasoned sales leader with an innate understanding of the needs and operational challenges hospitality businesses face,” said Kilgarriff. “He has greatly accelerated our efforts to introduce both Breadcrumb and Savored to restaurants.”
