While Groupon is staying on the overstock goods path, which seems to be doing well for the company considering they turned a decent first quarter earnings report, LivingSocial has decided to changed things up a bit. The D.C. based company is now focusing on events and experiences. The only thing these two strategies have in common is they aren’t daily deals.
LivingSocial announced this week that it will be holding a new experience on July 13. The “Backyard Festival” will be held on Randall Island, New York and will feature a variety of celebrity musicians including Joan Jett and Aerosmith. This “American Festival” will be one of the company’s largest events to date.
