According to LivingSocial, British buyers rank towards the top of the list of Valentine’s Day bargain seekers with over 4 in 10 of them seeking to spend well under £50 on a gift for their loved one. In addition the survey found that less than 4% of Brits are planning on spending over £100 on their partner.
Peter Briffett, Managing Director of LivingSocial in the UK and Ireland, said: “With the most romantic day of the year around the corner, it seems British consumers are keen to be romanced with great value deals this February.”
According to LivingSocial’s survey almost twice as many of British buyers (19%) will be planning ahead this year, buying presents and cards in advance rather than hustling to find a gift at the last minute (10%). Out of everyone surveyed, gifts that were preferred were:
-27.4 % A meal out
-26.31% A romantic get away
-22.04% Flowers
-23.8% Card
-7% Luxurious gifts (jewelry and technological gadgets)
However, not all of Britian prefers a typical Valentines day gesture, the LivingSocial survey revealed that 1 in 10 of survey takers crav something a little out of the ordinary and would love to be treated to a new activity or experience on Valentine’s Day.
