Jewpon: Where Kosher Meets Groupon

jewpon

In our unending search for all things daily deals, we recently discovered an interesting niche site that we weren’t aware of. Jewpon, which launched on November 1st of last year, offers deals on kosher and rabbinical approved restaurants as well as events, hotels, fashion and other products, all geared toward the Jewish community and at saving of up to 75 percent off.

The site offers deals in Miami, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, London, Moscow Jerusalem and several other cities with a launch in Boston, Baltimore and Philadelphia this month. They currently have 6000 subscribers, about half of which are in New York City.

Based in Miami, Jewpon was started by Zalmi Duchman, the same creative mind behind The Fresh Diet, a diet service that provides fresh home delivered meals on a daily bases. That site is currently redeeming vouchers for a recent Groupon campaign and by the way, the food looks great.

So far Jewpon has signed on 20 merchants and instead of the 50 percent that many other deal sites take per sale, Jewpon takes 30 percent, helping to make running a deals campaign a little more manageable for merchants.

Oh, and while Jewpon is a daily deals site, they don’t feature any deals from sunset Friday until sunset Saturday in observance of the Jewish Sabbath. But a good deal is always worth the wait.
