Breaking News: Major Outage at Exact Target Affecting Groupon Sales?

ET Fail Whale

Sources are telling us that there has been a major outage at Exact Target affecting Groupons sales today. We have reports that their servers in Las Vegas (Vegas Stack) are down and links are timing out. This outage may be having a negative affect on Groupons sales in key cities.  DealFind in Boston could also be affected.

Take a look at Groupon’s deal in Austin.  It’s been stuck at 4 sales for a while now. Check out the following deals as well:

Abilene, TX - 2 Deals Purchased

San Jose, CA - 2 Deals Purchased

Our team is digging into it and will have more to report shortly. I have reached out to Exact Target and will update as soon as we get some sort of response. Julie Mossler from Groupon told me she would look into it and get back to me.

Response from Groupon:

Hi Boyan -

This issue has already been resolved. When ET’s servers were down, customers may have had difficulty clicking through our email to the site. Even then, it was still possible to go to Groupon.com directly to purchase.
Thanks.
Julie

DealFind Update:  Dealfind is sending out a 2nd email to subscribers in affected cities, citing technical issues.  See the email below:
