Moms Carving Out Growing Niche in Daily Deals Industry

mom and kids

It’s doubtful that there’s anyone more tuned to bargain hunting than busy moms. Kids are expensive! As babies they require lots of diapers. They grow out of their clothes almost overnight. They need age appropriate toys and oh we almost forgot… you have to feed them too! As much as we love our little rug rats, they can be a constant outgoing cash flow. So when Groupon, LivingSocial and other daily deals sites started cropping up some very smart and innovative moms saw the perfect opportunity to start a business and help mothers just like themselves save on the things they and their children really need.

Daily deal sites are great but until recently there wasn’t much available that was truly for young families, specifically mothers and children. Restaurants and theater deals may be nice but just don’t cut it where moms with one or more little tykes in tow are concerned. This is where daily deal sites with a focus toward the needs of mothers and children are filling an important niche within the industry.

Here’s our list of just a few of the daily deal sites that are focusing on moms and kids and with the growing demand that group buying sites offer more relevant deals, there’s sure to be more to come.

Daily Deals for Moms: Local moms sharing darn good deals is what Daily Deals for Moms is all about. Founding moms, Ashley E. Kingsley and Whitney Trujillo bring diverse backgrounds and an understanding of what families need and want. Daily Deals for Moms is local in several cities across the US and has national deals available as well.

Zulily: Zulily offers daily deals for moms, babies and kids with as much as 70 percent off the retail cost of top brands for infants, children and maternity wear. The site requires registration but membership is free.

Plum District: Plum District is geared towards smart, savvy moms and knows what they want and need. The deals are sourced by moms so you can be sure they’ll be right on target.

FamilyFinds: FamilyFinds delivers daily deals and information on family-friendly local activities, restaurants and services. There’s a members-only daily email, with hand-picked local merchants that can save you 50 to 90% off.

Mamapedia: Mamapedia the informational site for moms also provides Mamapedia Sweet Deals offering deals on family-friendly restaurants, family entertainment, kids’ activities and even fun places for a mom’s night out,

MamaBargains.com: As the site says “Mamabargains.com is for you, by you and about you, the moms and dads of the world who want a great deal on a great product.” They offer more than one deal a day and at 40 to 80 percent off  retail value.
