QVC has just announced the launch of toGather – a shopping platform that gathers the network’s brands and shoppers into an interactive community.
Touting the new platform as an online version of the network’s long-established cable TV presence, QVC U.S. CEO Claire Watts states that “social shopping is all about building relationships, and QVC creates long-term relationships with customers like no other retailer.”
Claire further insists that platforms like toGather are “changing the way [in which] the world shops.”
Customers of the network have already grown accustomed to social media, which generated over $500 million for QVC in a 12-month span ending in June.
The toGather platform helps users find new products and set up feeds based on either personal preferences or popular trends. Equipped with a product catalog, checkout cart and interactive functions, the platform offers all the features of an integrated online shopping community.
Noting the millions of viewers that watch QVC on a daily basis, the network’s VP of Social Craig Donato expressed great enthusiasm about bringing the whole experience into an online, social environment.
In Donato’s own words, “no one understands social shopping better than QVC.”
